Definitions

Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca Kernel Oil) 
contains natural antioxidants, alpha, delta and gamma tocopherols plus vitamins A & E. Even though the taste and smell of the refined oil has no resemblance to the actual fruit, it smells and feels great on the skin.

Avocado Oil (Persea Gratissima Oil)

A wonderful massage oil, its protein, lecithin and fatty acids provide a great emollient oil for dry skin and eczema. Avocado oil is known to contain natural sun-blocking properties.

Baobab Oil (Adansonia Digitata)

offers longer shelf life, quick absorption, improves the elasticity of the skin and encourages regeneration of skin cells without clogging pores. 

 

Bergamot (Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Oil)

Bergamot oil is useful for infectious wounds, as an insect repellent and for cystitis. It is analgesic, antiseptic, and a deodorant. Bergamot is good for use with skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema. To that end, it is a good oil to combine with lavender for full synergistic value to heal burned skin

 

Cardamom (Elettaria Cardomum Oil)

In aromatherapy, cardamom is oten used for its uplifting and refreshing scent.

 

Cinnamon (Cinnamomum Zeylanicum Leaf Oil)

Known for its antiseptic, antibiotic and anstringent properties, it’s often used to prevent infection and lessen pain.


Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter)
an edible vegetable fat obtained from cocoa beans. This butter has a mild chocolate aroma that will remain in your final product (use Deodorized Cocoa Butter to avoid the chocolate scent or use scents that blend well such as Vanilla). Cocoa Butter contains natural antioxidants, provides a barrier on skin to help retain and restore moisture and improves skins elasticity (good for use on a pregnant tummy).

Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera Biennis Oil)

Helps heal skin irritations. It increases skin hydration and moisturizes dry, aging and chapped skin. It maintains normal function of epithelial barrier membrane. EPO promotes healthy functioning of body tissues due to high GLA content. Reduces wrinkles in preparation with higher concentrations (20 percent)

 

Geranium Pelargonium Graveolens Oil)

This uplifting oil has a great balancing effect on psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, stress, and even as a mosquito repellant

Gotu kola (Centalla Asiatica Brahmi)

used for the following benefits: rheumatism, skin conditions, increased concentration, poor circulation, arthritis, blood sugar levels, health of veins, varicose veins

Grape seed Oil (Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil)

Helps strengthen tissue cells, it preserves natural skin moisture. Offers low odor and satin finish. Aids skin penetration, especially in those whose skin does not easily absorb oils. Feels non-greasy 

Helichrysum Oil
Anti-allergenic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, helichrysum oil may be beneficial to dermatitis, acne and the healing of scars as well as countering the effects of aging.

 

Lavender 40/42 (Lavendula Angustifolia Oil)

A welcome addition to skincare, lavender oil is used to treat acne, psoriasis, and rashes. One of the only essential oils that can be directly applied to the skin, it is used for any skin healing protocol.

 

Neroli (Citrus Aurantium Amara Oil)

A great cell-regenerator, neroli is often used in aging and dry skin care, great for sensitive skin, known to prevent scarring and stretch marks.

Olive Oil (Olea Europaea Oil)

Moisturizes dry skin and relieves itching. Helps the synthesis of substances like collagen, elastin, proteoglycans and glycoproteins 
 
Sal Butter (Shorea Robusta)
expeller-pressed from the seed of the Sal tree (also know as Shorea tree) that is grown in India. Refined Sal Butter has a smooth texture and mild odor. This butter prevents drying of the skin, development of wrinkles, and lends some protection against the sun.

Shea Oil (Butyrospermum Parkii)

Moisturizer, soothes burns, effective in treating dermatitis and eczema. Promotes elasticity in skin, soothes diaper rash and other allergic skin ailments.

St John’s Wort (Hypericum Perforatum)

A red oil used to treat bruises and burns because of its anti-inflammatory properties. Ithas been recorded as medicinal, topical oil since 1597.


Tamanu Oil
